Alcohol.
I think it's so sad that the people on the reservation are turning to alcohol to hide their problems. It's sad how it's becoming a problem, and no is doing anything about it. Junior sees that alcohol is more important to his Spokane people than a education. I believe the reason why Junior parents started drinking was because they were depressed. They were trying to hide their pain, because they never had the chance to go after their dreams. They lost hope, and i think that is the same for the rest of the Spokane people.

Do you remember the picture of Juniors parents? He said that what they would have become if they didn't start to drink. People say that drinking starts in the home, so I bet you money that Juniors parent's parents drank heavily also. If you grow up knowing that your not going to amount to anything in life, then your not going to reach for the stars when your an adult. Alcohol is a terrible drink and it does destroy family, people, and futures
ReplyDeletePart of me wants to say "be careful of stereotyping when you say "the rest of the Spokane people" but Junior does make it sound pretty widespread.
